Joby GorillaPod
Joby’s Gorilla Pods are famous within the YouTuber community and are a solid tripod choice. Their greatest perk is the fact that the legs are adjustable, which means you’ll always be able to get a level shot, even if it’s on an uneven surface. You can also use the legs to wrap your camera around things like fence posts, tree limbs, etc.
There are Gorilla Pods with many different carrying capacities, so you’ll definitely be able to find one that’s right for you and your camera. They even have some options designed specifically for phones.
The Gorilla Pod I ended up buying was the GorillaPod Mobile Mini, and I used it for a couple of years. It’s very short, so it’s perfect for carrying around with you. Eventually, I wanted a taller one and bought a cheaper brand, but I wish I hadn’t because the quality isn’t as good as Joby.
Although the flexible legs are incredible, they aren’t indestructible. Eventually, they’re going to get loose and you’ll have to buy a new one, and this was part of the reason I wanted to replace my Mobile Mini. However, they last a long time and are great tripods, in my opinion.
Switchpod
This next tripod is not actually one I have personally bought, but someday I really would like to get one! If you’re someone who is planning on creating a lot of on-the-go content, this tripod looks perfect for you. It’s an incredibly unique hand-held tripod made by creators, for creators. The legs of this sleek little tripod swing back and forth like a switchblade, allowing for easy transition between holding it for vlogging and taking still shots. No need to adjust clunky legs when you want to set it down somewhere! Of course, this means that they aren’t flexible, so it’s not as versatile as the GorillaPod. But for YouTubers who are always moving, this tripod would be an excellent addition to your gear. Plus, it looks like a ton of fun to play with!
Manfrotto PIXI Mini Tripod
This little guy is simple, portable, affordable, and high-quality. The red button allows you to adjust the tilt of your camera and then lock it in place. The legs have rubber tips to keep it from sliding around. It’s not flexible, but it’s sturdy. My dad loves his!
Neewer Portable Aluminum Alloy Camera 2-in-1 Tripod Monopod
I have been using this tripod regularly, and highly recommend it as a good quality, affordable option. If you’re planning on making talking head videos and need some hight flexibility, this will be a great camera for you. It’s lightweight and easy to adjust. There’s even a way to adjust the tilt of your camera! It comes in a variety of colors on Amazon.
